Disruption of Reconsolidation
through Sensory Stimulation

A FAST, FRICTIONLESS AND RELIABLE STRATEGY\"\" FOR EXTINCTION OF CONDITIONED THOUGHTS, FEELINGS, AND BEHAVIOURS

Up-to-date evidence* (post 1990’s) guides us to conclude that inhibition strategies, including those widely used even now, tend to be both slow and unpredictable in terms of efficacy, and conditioned thoughts, feelings, and behaviours tend to rehabituate, particularly under stress conditions.

In marked contrast, this updated research examining extinction of conditioned thoughts, feelings, and behaviour points strongly to disruption strategies, targetted precisely at the reconsolidation phase of the conditioned response, being able to smoothly extinguish conditioning in a way that is quite rapid and also robust.

The purpose of this site is to more fully explain the theory, rationale and evidence for SDR Therapy (Sensory Disruption of Reconsolidation) in order to facilitate integration at the coalface of psychotherapy today**.
